World Gold Council
John is Director of Member and Market Relations at the World Gold Council, leading its programmes to support it members and its engagement with partner and stakeholder organisations.
Additionally, he contributes to the organisation’s wider research and communications outputs to improve understanding of the whole gold supply chain.
He has written extensively and comments regularly on gold market, investment strategy and sustainability issues. Recently, John was responsible for the production of key research on the socio-economic impacts of the gold market and gold mining, and the relationship between gold production and climate change.
John joined the World Gold Council in early 2005, working initially on investment research and then, from 2007, as Investment Marketing Manager, specifically addressing institutional and HNW investors.
John has worked in or around the financial markets for over 25 years, including senior roles in business development, product management and marketing, trading systems and market data analysis.
Beyond the financial markets, John has consulted on research and knowledge management projects for a range of clients, from small businesses to supranational organisations.
John has degrees from the University of Sussex and Birkbeck College, University of London.
