In 1998, Sergey graduated with a degree in economics from the Krasnoyarsk Academy of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold, and in 2003, completed the Presidential Management Program at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. He has gained further qualifications from Manchester Business School and Aston Business School. In 2015, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Krasnoyarsk Territorial Settlement Center, and is currently Managing Director at geological exploration and gold mining firm, VostokGeologiya Ltd.
